A calligraphy of Jia Dao's Tang-dynasty poem "Seeking the Hermit in Vain," which opens "Beneath the pines I ask the boy." Written in 1961 in her third year at Ewha Girls' High School and later recovered from her late father's effects, it is the earliest surviving work — the disciplined hand that long preceded her sutra art.
